Daja Jolliff
Hello! I'm Daja, and I'm originally from Detroit, Michigan, USA. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, along with a TEFL certification. I have over 4 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL), including a rewarding experience in Harbin, and 3 years as a homeroom teacher in Ghana where I taught ELA, geography, and history. My specialty lies in teaching reading and creative writing, where I not only guide students in honing their literacy skills but also inspire them to explore the power of their imagination and express themselves through storytelling. I believe in Jean Piaget’s philosophy that "children are not empty vessels to be filled with only knowledge. They have the right to experience and explore learning." This belief shapes my approach to education, creating an environment that encourages students to think critically, explore, and grow both academically and personally.

Edward Tokoane
My name is Lebohang Edward Tokoane, I’m from South Africa. I have bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and Technology. I have Postgraduate in Education for senior phase and FET phase specializing in Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Technology.
My love for teaching started when I was still at the university tutoring high school students. After graduation, I then decided to become a qualified teacher.
Nelson Mandela once said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

Lee Alexander Filipowicz
Hi, I’m Lee and I’m from the west midlands in England. I have an undergraduate degree in music and a masters degree in education. My main hobbies are reading, playing bass and physical fitness.
I have 10 years teaching experience ranging from early years education to senior high school and and consider myself an individual who is always willing to learn and grow.
As an educator, I have been influenced by situated learning theory, both philosophically and practically. I believe in collaborative and participative teaching methods as a means for acquiring knowledge. I believe learning is not just for the classroom and from the teacher but is also strongly influenced by the surrounding environment, the context, and there is a constant ongoing dialogue that is shared between the learners, the teacher and the broader community.
Thankyou, and i’ll see you around!

I joined Meishi in 2016. I think the biggest advantage of the PYP-English Section is that it provides a chance of international education “at the door". Kids can receive international education in the mainland China starting from a very young age, and therefore be prepared for future oversea study in terms of language, learning habit and individual learning ability. Children will gain both knowledge and happiness in relaxing and flexible learning process, thus become self-motivated to learn.

Education means a tree shakes a tree, a cloud pushes a cloud and a soul wakes up a soul. "work conscientiously, look for the truth and be practical" is the attitude I've always have. In my eyes, every kid is an adorable angel and my duty is helping them get a flying wings, with which they can be free to soar the sky.
